Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies Chaos Story

Plenty of Christmas noobs will be filling up the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 servers this holiday season. If you're looking to get away from the chaos of multiplayer, though, you might want to try out Black Ops 4's Zombies mode.

Treyarch is well known for its high-quality Zombies experiences—and Black Ops 4 certainly doesn't disappoint. The game is just over two months old and there are already five Zombies maps available in Black Ops 4.

The create-a-class system for Black Ops 4 Zombies is a little more advanced and in-depth than previous titles, however. To help new players quickly get set up to kill hordes of the living dead, we've put together this guide with the best beginner loadouts for Black Ops 4 Zombies.

When you enter the Zombies create-a-class system, you'll notice two tabs at the top: Aether Story and Chaos Story. These two tabs provide a unique set of classes for the different Zombies storylines in Black Ops 4.

At the time of writing, there are only two Zombies maps that use the Aether Story: Blood of the Dead and Classified. If you're playing either of these maps, you'll need to select a loadout from the Aether Story tab.

At the beginning, you won't be able to change much since you won't have everything unlocked yet. We recommend using Quick Revive, Stamin-Up, and Dying Wish as three of your four perks. You can be a little creative with your fourth perk since there aren't really any options that stand out at this point—but we recommend Timeslip or Electric Burst. Make sure that Dying Wish is in the Tonic slot, though, in order to get the benefit of its modifier.

It doesn't matter which Special Weapon you select, either—they're all really good. We've had the most fun using the Path of Sorrows and Overkill, though. For Elixirs, we recommend Always Done Swiftly, Anywhere But Here!, Burned Out, and Temporal Gift.

You also won't be able to change your Equipment or Start Weapon for a while, so don't worry about that right away. For beginners starting from level one, focus on selecting the best Elixirs and perks to set you up for success.

Chaos Story

If you aren't playing one of the two Aether Story maps, that means you'll need to use a loadout from the Chaos Story tab. Three maps are a part of the Chaos Story in December: IX, Voyage of Despair, and Dead of the Night.

Unfortunately, though, there isn't much that you can do differently between the Aether and Chaos Story classes at level one. The only real change you can make is to your Special Weapon, since each storyline has four unique weapons. But again, it doesn't really matter which one you pick—we've had the most fun using the Hammer of Valhalla and Scepter of Ra.

Other than changing your Special Weapon, your create-a-class loadouts for both storylines should look relatively similar—unless you really want to experiment with different perks or Elixirs.

Once you level up and unlock more perks, Elixirs, Equipment, and Start Weapons, you can begin to have some more fun in Zombies create-a-class.
